Illinois State Senate Candidate Bill Gentes The Illinois 26th Senate district encompasses parts of 3 counties (Lake, Mchenry, and Cook) and takes in parts, or all of 42 different muncipalities and parts or all of 16 townships. There are roughly 140,000 voters in the district with one third in McHenry County, five percent in Cook County and the rest in Lake County.
